Getting Cozy for Fall

Fall and the changing temperatures tend to make us all want to cozy up! We start to crave hot chocolate, big scarves, and thick furry blankets. For me, I love to start out the new season with some subtle decor changes to make it feel cozier and more homey. I love a spicy scented candle, which always make it feel comfortable and cozy! Here's some of my favorite ways to add more of an autumn feel to your home.

Add texture: Even by simply adding cable knit and furry throw blankets in an oversized french market basket, you can cast a different look in a room. If you store pillow covers or vintage linens for the offseason, consider pulling them out  and mixing in more textured fabrics like velvets and linen mixed with contrasting patterns.

Add in small touches: It doesn't have to cost a ton to make your home feel cozy and transition from summer to fall. A simple display of  lit candles, and a few sprigs of dried eucalyptus added to the dining table, a nubby tweed throw pillow, a  knit throw draped on the sofa...all of these can add warmth and comfort to your living space.

Cozy up your bed: Bring back in your heavier linens, like down comforters and textured throw pillows. Add some low ambient lighting using lamps and antique books to dress your side tables.  Of course there is nothing better than a good nights sleep on a plush mattress like this one from Casper.  Tones like grey, linen, rust, and midnight blue will add depth and weight to your decor as well.
