BLUSH | FARM STYLED | WEDDING

From the Bride… Our wedding took place at a historical Farm in Southern Oregon. I was going for a beautiful rustic romantic blush wedding. We incorporated blush and ivory as our primary colors. We used vintage and romantic decor to create the perfectly beautiful palette for our romantic wedding.

The morning of the wedding it was pouring down rain. My wedding stylist, Terrie Day,  called and notified me to my horror that we had to put up tents. I had dreamt of my beautiful reception area under the large oak trees with cafe lights strung about in a huge canopy. I was devastated by the weather. By the time I got in the model T to be driven down to my groom for our first look at the farm the weather had changed. The day was so romantic because of the rain in the morning and the sun came out right before the ceremony. It was as if God was shining down on us!

Getting Cozy for Fall

Fall and the changing temperatures tend to make us all want to cozy up! We start to crave hot chocolate, big scarves, and thick furry blankets. For me, I love to start out the new season with some subtle decor changes to make it feel cozier and more homey. I love a spicy scented candle, which always make it feel comfortable and cozy! Here's some of my favorite ways to add more of an autumn feel to your home.

Add texture: Even by simply adding cable knit and furry throw blankets in an oversized french market basket, you can cast a different look in a room. If you store pillow covers or vintage linens for the offseason, consider pulling them out  and mixing in more textured fabrics like velvets and linen mixed with contrasting patterns.

Add in small touches: It doesn't have to cost a ton to make your home feel cozy and transition from summer to fall. A simple display of  lit candles, and a few sprigs of dried eucalyptus added to the dining table, a nubby tweed throw pillow, a  knit throw draped on the sofa...all of these can add warmth and comfort to your living space.

Cozy up your bed: Bring back in your heavier linens, like down comforters and textured throw pillows. Add some low ambient lighting using lamps and antique books to dress your side tables.  Of course there is nothing better than a good nights sleep on a plush mattress like this one from Casper.  Tones like grey, linen, rust, and midnight blue will add depth and weight to your decor as well.

Kate Spade Inspired Wedding | Stylized Weddings

Every bride is beautiful, but sometimes there is just that something extra that makes a bride especially stunning. Kendall, the bride you will see below, overcame extraordinarily hard circumstances when cancer changed her world two years ago. So, her day was more than just a wedding day..it was a true celebration of her life, and the triumph she found. There was so much joy, so much emotion, and so much fun. This whimsical and elegant celebration was inspired by the bold contrasts of designer Kate Spade. Anchored by black and white neutrals, we added in lots of pink pops of color to meet the bride’s vision of what she wanted for the day. With some sparkle, some incredible flowers, and the effervescence of the bridal party, it was truly perfect. For the ceremony we hung striking panels of black and white stripes, and draped them with fresh flowers in deep and bright berry hues. With the chandelier added, it was both bold and lovely for a backdrop. Little black and gold tags marked off place settings, and the cake was a true work of art; dotted with shimmery fondant and wide, cream colored stripes. The overall look was stunning!  It was a beautiful, perfect day, and a reminder to truly treasure the gift of life.

Winter Merlot | Wedding | Inspiration

A wedding in the winter seems so romantic to me! Think of deep red velvets in a rustic pine lodge with a cozy by-the-fireplace feel. That is what this bridal shoot reminds me of.  When Nikita of Nikita Lee Photography asked for me to join her in her vision of a rustic elegant wedding, I thought it would be so much fun to work with someone new and bring to life a stunning Winter Merlot Wedding! Thanks to ALL of the talented artists that made this shoot so beautiful!

Andrew and Nicole | Stylized Wedding | Formal Event Planning

When you fall in love, you begin picturing the day of your dreams. The day you say "I do", the moment you step into The Dress, the feel of that bouquet in your hands. All that imagining becomes reality on the day, your day...the wedding. This wedding truly was something from a dream...

With it's peachy, blush tones and the location nestled in the lush green background of Southern Oregon, it was picture-perfect. Andrew and Nicole said their vows to a forever love at a park in gorgeous Southern Oregon, and the result was an enchanting evening by the river. Nicole, the stunning bride, requested a mix of ivory, peach, and blush, paired with a  vision with glamorous gold. The gold stood out against the chic decor, and it all worked seamlessly. Gold chargers and plush, tufted chairs lent the elegant air, while the more rustic pergola kept the whole look grounded and natural. With flowers by Orchard Home B&B, it couldn't have been better.

"May your love be firm,
and may your dream of life together be a river between two shores -- by day bathed in sunlight, and by night illuminated from within. May the heron
carry news of you to the heavens, and the salmon bring the sea's blue grace. May your twin thoughts spiral upward
like leafy vines, like fiddle strings in the wind, and be as noble as the Douglas fir. May you never find yourselves back to back
without love pulling you around
into each other's arms."- James Bertolino

DREAMING OF PARIS | WEDDING | INSPIRATION

There’s a reason that Paris is the epitome of beauty, fine art, and style; the effortless charm seeps through everything, and we wanted to capture that feel with our shoot. We styled this modern parisian shoot with a few hints of bohemian flair, and kept it light and airy with colors like cream, blush, and gold. We anchored those breezy colors with touches of black. Our gorgeous model looked Paris-ready with her polished curls and ethereal headpiece. We wanted to capture the feel of an anticipatory bride awaiting her groom on the streets of one of the most romantic cities in the world…it almost feels like you have been swept right off to parisian streets, doesn’t it?

We also added lots of tulle to keep the airy feel, and to create the feeling of being weightless and fanciful. The tulle epaulets on the dress added a bit of fairy-tale romance, and balanced out the darker elements like the black and gold centerpieces. The gently curved and horizontal bouquet was dramatic but not too polished, and we kept the makeup on our model full of pouty pinks and delicate definition.

Boots and Blue Jeans | Weddings | Southern Oregon Wedding Planner

As we see it here at Allure with Decor, the perfect outfit is nothing more than a pair of faded blue jeans, brown suede boots, and a crisp white shirt. What’s not to LOVE about this easy combination? I teamed up with up with photographer Olivia Leigh to create a casually styled denim wedding, inspired by her favorite fabrics.  A rustic pine farm table was set with darker wood chargers, and then layered with two different patterned indigo napkins for interest. Topping off this look we added bright white dinnerware, some mint, and a sweet potted flower. The table was then set with a ruffled daisy garland, wood candlesticks and over-sized lanterns.  We hand-picked a trio of desserts in keeping with our casual theme; serving up mason jar blueberry shortcake, mint pistachio parfaits, and molasses cookies tied up with twine.  We had fun with coming up our version of a denim dress outfitted perfectly for this occasion.  The bride looks stunning in the tulle wedding gown fitted with a denim blouse and a brown woven belt.  I think adding your own personal style into your wedding day is what gives it flair! What could be more fun than choosing your personal favorite outfit to match?

Romantic Neutrals| Master Suite | Southern Oregon Interior Designer

Who says neutrals are boring?! I say they are SIMPLY elegant!  This Master Suite is truly a reflection of the owners of the home. Sweet. Calm. Lovely. Inspiring.  Can you tell I LOVE this couple? I have worked with them over many years, and feel very  blessed that they trusted me to make their master bedroom a retreat for them!  This room is monochromatic in color but filled with texture and pattern. The ruched bedding adds a touch of feminine romance to the otherwise masculine bed. The splash of color in this room comes in it’s most natural form…flowers!  Photos by Olivia Leigh Photography.

I could curl up in those chairs all day and read a Nicholas Sparks novel (if only the owners were gone for the week)!

Parisian | Bedroom | Southern Oregon Interior Designer

For this teenager, it was all about Sweet Parisian Dreams! We started with pout-pink walls and linen…Ooh la la! For this girl, who loves to read, a wing-back headboard and lounge seating gives her cozy options to curl up and read a book. I wanted something unique above her bed, so why not add local time and Paris time (like you might see in a train station in old Europe)? What girl wouldn’t want her very own Paris inspired bathroom! This marble top vanity is paired beautifully with a french market sign. Now if we only had some pastries! I am sure if the occupant of this room was around, she’d bake us up some treats!  Isn’t that the cutest dog ever!! She just had to sneak into the pictures!!! I think she makes the perfect accessory to such a soft, sophisticated room. Thank you Olivia with Olivia Leigh Photography for the photos!

Calming | Dining Room | Southern Oregon Interior Designer

Here’s an exclusive sneak peek into a dining room I am currently working on! Just a few short weeks ago, this very dining room had an old dark hutch and dining table, teal blue walls and floral printed fabrics! Now it is a calming, neutral space with a rustic smoky pine table and buffet. Now onto the accessories!! Photo credit: Olivia Leigh Photography
